Although there is never a 100 % guaranteeing Relapse after an individual gets treatment at an inpatient center will not occur, there is a much better chance of avoiding relapse if the individual has a strong support system while they are in the facility, and once they get out and go back to their normal day to day lives. The more you plan ahead, and the more time you take in considering what to do in situations when you find it difficult to avoid drugs, the better the chances are that you will not relapse, and that you will not fall victim to the drugs you were once addicted to.
When you do check in to an inpatient center, they will help you with different tips for Relapse Prevention; and, they are going to help you set a plan of motion up, so that you know what to do when you areout in the real world, and find yourself in an extremely tough situation. Or, when you do feel the urge to turn to drugs, the best inpatient centers are going to allow you to come back in, or give you different contacts to call, if you are ever in a situation where you feel you may be in a place that you do not know how to avoid the drugs, or want to possibly turn to drugs because of the people who are around you.
Relapse Prevention and planning ahead, are the only things you can do to help you prepare for a situation that you may find yourself in, once you are no longer in the rehab facility. There are always going to be people around you, and very tough places for you to visit, especially if you were an addict for longer periods of time.
